felipe’s posterous

Felipe Gomes at the internet and elsewhere

albums that will change your life

not a thorough list in any way, just some that I can remember now...

  • the postal service - give up
  • radiohead - ok computer
  • my bloody valentine - loveless
  • the shins - chutes too narrow
  • daft punk - discovery
  • nirvana - nevermind
  • beatles - white album
  • u2 - all that you can't leave behind
  • death cab for cutie - the photo album
  • moby - play

obs1: lots of other still considering going to the list, but I don't want this to be a long list with things of the moment
obs2: beatles and u2 - very hard to pick an specific album
obs3: what's in this list are not here mere because they're "very very good"... many really good albuns, perhaps some even better, won't make to the list, because the point here are albums that in some way open your mind for a whole new thing

all this looks so babbly and trying to be intelligent and etc.. but it's not, definitely... these are just stuff that are important to me and I always wanted to make such a list and I also needed some good excuse to post to posterous again =)

Long time no see

Hello Posterous, are you up?

When I finally get a new router and some free time to come back to the internet, first day the DSL is down, next day twitter + bloglines down...

I hope gmail stays cool tomorrow!

and i'm back to posting the interesting stuff I find around.

Daft Punk Cover

I loved this video

The "darth vader" look is scary, but everything looks extremely cool

Color Hue Test

Very nice test, check if you can sort the 360° of the color hue palette.

The test is very nice, although the results are disappointing. The result is a simple result that doesn't tell you anything, and there is no exact average displayed so you know how well you did. The number of mistakes would be hard to count if they were more than simple swaps, but anyway, a little more info could be better =)

I took the screenshot of my test and did my own verification: got a 11 result in the test which meant 3 swaps for me.

Attaching the result, I hope every color is preserved in the file.

A bit old news, not sure how I missed it since I was specifically looking for it (on regards of Google Chrome peak on twitter), but here it goes

Personal Visualization contest at Flowing Data

This is basically infovis-porn. Flowing data announces the winners of the Personal Visualization contest.
I can't even begin to describe how nice the results are.
http://flowingdata.com/2008/09/09/winner-of-the-personal-visualization-project-is/

I'll definitely have to try some of the vis with my data, specially putting my playlists in wordle or tracking my coca-cola over a week

Tagmarks

My newest Firefox extension, Tagmarks, is among the winners of the Extend Firefox 3 contest!
I'm very very happy now!
Thanks for all the great comments and congrats, and the posts on Cybernet and Lifehacker and other places!

I've got to say that I'm very amazed by the great response that the extension got, and that I'm working on the suggestions that the users are requesting, to make a better and useful extension for everybody!

If you don't know the extension and are interested, please see a screenshot below, and read more info about it on the project page.
